Why We’re Bringing Bside to Mobile

After launching our cozy desktop companion experience on Steam, we heard from many players who wished they could check on their Biibit throughout the day, and from many others who couldn’t try Bside at all because they didn’t have a Windows PC. Those voices became the starting point for our next big step Bside mobile.

The mobile version is calm, light, and designed to fit naturally into your day. Our goal with the mobile version is simple: bring the same sense of life, warmth, and gentle presence into a format you can carry anywhere. We rebuilt key systems to make Biibits responsive on the go, refined the UI for smaller screens, and redesigned the overall flow so everything feels smoother.

More Interactive, More Playful

Based on our recent testing feedback, we’re also making new design decisions for the mobile experience. Unlike the desktop version, which works well as a cozy background companion while you’re on your PC, the mobile version will be more interactive and playful. In its first release, we’re introducing a brand new feature Biibit Adventures. Your Biibit can now join others to explore story instances, and they’ll return with memories of what happened on their journey along with the loot they discovered. We’ll be expanding this feature in future updates to include UGC story instances created by players themselves. We’ve also added a behavior system that leverages agentic AI to give each Biibit their own way of acting during adventures, shaped by their memories, personality, and past experiences. Our goal is to make every journey feel different and every Biibit feel truly one of a kind. We hope this gameplay will open the door to richer narrative experiences and help every Biibit grow into a more distinctive and truly unique virtual being. However, the Space feature will not be available on mobile for now. We will continue refining it on the PC version and explore directions that make the experience feel more meaningful and better suited for desktop play.

We’ve also made many other improvements based on your feedback, including smoother animations, expanded customization options, and a larger set of preset clothing items. You can look forward to a smoother, more delightful experience overall - almost like having a tiny pocket pet companion in your hands! The Biibit you created on the desktop version can be carried over to mobile, and of course, you’re always free to start fresh with a brand new Biibit if you’d like.

Bside Mobile will be available very soon, with an expected release in early 2026. We’ve also launched our new official website, where you can join the mobile early access list to receive the latest updates and announcements.
